Fear

Recently I read a quote by Glennon Doyle Melton  and it read “If you can’t beat fear, just do it scared”. This quote is fairly accurate. There are many things that fear keeps you from doing, and rightfully so. There are also many other fears that keep you from doing thrilling activities. Take for acrophobia for example. Acrophobia is the fear of heights and it both protects and limits people who have it. It protects in the sense of telling the brain to go nowhere near that ledge or cliff but it can also keep you from climbing or cliff jumping or skydiving. However with repetition, you can start to get over the limiting part of the fear and keep the protecting part. That goes a lot with kung fu. There are many things that people don’t like or are scared to do, like a flying spinning back kick. But with repetition both skill and awareness of your body will come, and if your scared to do the flying spinning back kick, just do it scared.
