The mink

This weekend I spent at a lake cabin. We were there with some family friends. The first day that we were there we spotted a mink. And for those of you that don’t know what a mink is, it’s kinda like an otter that has sharp teeth and claws and it’s something that you defiantly don’t want to corner. Anyways our friends had two chihuahuas with them so this mink was bad news. Originally our plan was to set up a trap to kill it but later out mindsets changed. We figured that it has done nothing wrong to us and that we are actually in this animals land. So a new plan sprang into action. We were going to relocate it a little bit away so that way it won’t harm the dogs and it still has it’s life. However day one was coming to an end and there was no more signs of the mink. Concerns were growing in both families about the mink as the day progressed. Finally on day two we were able to capture in a large bucket and got a lid on it. Immediately the first thing we did was start the vehicle and drive to its new home. We drove for 10 minutes before we found a spot to let the mink free. We kept it near the water so it can still feel a little at home. The lesson from all of this is that always reevaluate decisions regarding someone other then yourself. Look at it twice and from both sides and that will help you find the best solution.
