Camping

Last week was a pretty eventful week with helping out with VBS from Tuesday to Friday, to camping from Friday to Tuesday. There was a lot of new experiences within this week and all of them were well worth it with lots of memorable moments.

Starting the week was VBS. For those of you that downs know what it is, it’s a vacation bible school(VBS) were kids come to learn about God, play games, and sing songs. I was helping out this year at activities and each day had the same routine. The first 45 minutes was song songs, then I had one group come out to play games, waited for an hour then had the last group. After that last group was done I waited inside the church for an hour then we sang for 45 minutes then we all left.

Thursday came and that was the barbecue and game night. Every year on the second last day of VBS, they have a barbecue and a water fight. I didn’t go this year because of I Ho Chuan. Thursday night was the night to get ready for our annual camping trip to Dillberry lake.

Going to Dillberry is always one of my favourite highlights of the year. We get to spend time with our cousins, go on the boat, and best of all, go tubing. There is also a sand hill in the campground called chokecherry hill. For me and my cousin it’s tradition to sprint down the hill, it always ends up with a crazy wipeout. It doesn’t sound like much but a steep sand hill makes you trip. This year I took it up a notch and did 20 dizzy spins at the top of the hill, it ended with a crazy fall.

This week was an amazing week and I am already looking forward to it next year. It was fun seeing my cousins again and learning new stories about their childhood. It was also exiting to help out with VBS and interacting with little children. Doing these sort of things can really help you develop relationships with everyone around you, and improve the relationships with those who you already have a relationship with.
