Habits

So, as everyone knows, school is coming up within a week. With the new school year coming up, that means getting back into school routine. That means no sleeping in, making our lunches, doing homework, studying and all other things related to school. Heading into a new grade, let alone a new school, is something that is always different and could be a challenge to some people. Some may find the challenge easier then others but the challenge is still there. Everything you do in life involves some sort of habit. It’s up to you about if the habit will be a good one or a bad one. The more good habits you have, like studying or always being on time, the more likely you are to succeed in anything you try in. Look at Kung fu for an example, if you are always late and never want to do any work it will take a long time to get your black belt, if you even get it at all. But someone who is always working, shows up on time, and practices daily could get their black belt within a few years. Bad...

Grandparents

This week I went to my Nana and Papa’s house. They took me to their house right after Dillberry, I didn’t even go home. The first day we got to their house at around 5 o’clock so we didn't do much, we just stayed home and played on our devices. The next morning we woke up and had bacon and eggers with hash browns. One of the many perks about going to my grandparents house is that Nana cooks a lot. After breakfast we got packed up and headed to the pool where we would stay for about 4 hours. I like going to different aquatic centres because all of the are different and they each have their own unique look. The next day we went to the pool again except an hour in, two of my cousins came and we played with them. When we went home it was about 5:30 and we played outside. The next day was a lazy day for all of us. I woke up at 12 and watched tv with my papa. We did that almost all day. Finally our last full day at their house, Papa and I went to the driving range. It was my first...

Camping

Last week was a pretty eventful week with helping out with VBS from Tuesday to Friday, to camping from Friday to Tuesday. There was a lot of new experiences within this week and all of them were well worth it with lots of memorable moments. Starting the week was VBS. For those of you that downs know what it is, it’s a vacation bible school(VBS) were kids come to learn about God, play games, and sing songs. I was helping out this year at activities and each day had the same routine. The first 45 minutes was song songs, then I had one group come out to play games, waited for an hour then had the last group. After that last group was done I waited inside the church for an hour then we sang for 45 minutes then we all left. Thursday came and that was the barbecue and game night. Every year on the second last day of VBS, they have a barbecue and a water fight. I didn’t go this year because of I Ho Chuan. Thursday night was the night to get ready for our annual camping trip to Dillberry l...

Risks

Today I had an accident that was very frustrating for my dad. We were just started to paint my sisters room but when dad told me to bring everything in, I tried to take everything in on one trip instead of two. On my way in, I dropped the can of paint and paint went all over the floor. Luckily I was still in the garage. So now we had to spend half an hour cleaning up all the spilt paint and we still have to get new paint. When that mess was dealt with it made me think about how everything in life has a risk. The most common conception of a risk is when you either get a big win or a big fail, like double or nothing. But a risk is a situation that exposes you to danger. It could be any kind of danger like financial danger, physical danger, emotional danger, etc. Anything and everything has a risk to it. The risk may be the smallest thing ever but there is still that slight chance of a risk. Even the most basic thing, like going outside, is a risk. When you go outside you could get st...
