Importance of breaking your comfort zone
This weekend I tried some new things with my friend. Although it was only two things, it definitely paid off in the end. The two new things I had to go out of my comfort zone to try. Going out of your comfort zone is really important on a daily basis.
The first thing that I did was go down the purple loopty loop slide at the World Water Park in West Edmonton Mall. It was something I always wanted to do but always chickened out. My friend as only been on it once at was nervous to go on it a second time so that didn’t encourage me at all.
It was scary stepping into the tube and listening to the countdown while in the tube. It felt like a straight drop and you could barely feel the loopty loop. I had a sigh of relief when I made it to the bottom of the slide. However with this new thing I got a big red mark on my back from going down that slide.
The second new thing I tried was a pogo stick. I always wanted to do it but never had a chance to go on one. It took time and a couple of off balance jumps to get use to. However there is always a risk to everything and the risk for pogo sticking got me. I jumped into a soft area of ground and fell off, twisted my ankle and bit my finger so hard that it was bleeding(don’t ask how I bit my finger, I don’t even know myself).
Overall the experiences that I tried with my friend thought my a lesson and showed me that if something looks scary, it may be just as fun. Don’t let anything scare you because if you actually want to and put your mind to it, you could accomplish anything.
