Importance of breaking your comfort zone

This weekend I tried some new things with my friend. Although it was only two things, it definitely paid off in the end. The two new things I had to go out of my comfort zone to try. Going out of your comfort zone is really important on a daily basis. The first thing that I did was go down the purple loopty loop slide at the World Water Park in West Edmonton Mall. It was something I always wanted to do but always chickened out. My friend as only been on it once at was nervous to go on it a second time so that didn’t encourage me at all. It was scary stepping into the tube and listening to the countdown while in the tube. It felt like a straight drop and you could barely feel the loopty loop. I had a sigh of relief when I made it to the bottom of the slide. However with this new thing I got a big red mark on my back from going down that slide. The second new thing I tried was a pogo stick. I always wanted to do it but never had a chance to go on one. It took time and a couple of o...

Importance of friends

This weekend I went to my friends house. We watched a movie and played on the Xbox most of the time. This made me realize that friends are really important for many different reasons. The first reason that everyone knows is for company. Friends are really important for company so that way you have someone to talk to, someone to relate to and most of all someone you can have fun with. All of those parts make up one tiny bit of a good friendship. The next reason is still pretty obvious but not that many people think about it. Friends should support you if and when you need support. It is important to have support because without it, your life could turn out as a total mess. Not only that but you also have to support your friends as well. The final reason is that friends can help you excel in your everyday activities like sports or academics. Friends can also look at for you and say that a certain idea isn't the best and it can seriously injure you. Those are all the qua...

Week 4 Year of the Dog

It is four weeks into year of the dog, that means I should be getting a grip on all the standards for I Ho Chuan. Well for somethings I am and somethings I'm not. I have basically got into the habit of doing things that I'm not focused on everything else. The things that I'm doing well in are my push ups and sit ups and my form reps. I am slowly working on my personal goals but I haven't put much thought into them. I am going to learn how to lion dance here soon because of the seminar, and I publish a blog every week. Those are pretty much the only things I have done so far. The things that I haven't quite grasped yet or writing down all of the good deeds, actually focus on my personal goals, I haven't sparred yet, I haven't thought about who and how I'm going to mend a relationship, I looked at mastery by Stuart Emery once and that was even before I Ho Chuan started. Overall I feel like I'm struggling and the year has barely started. I am going t...

my cat Max

This week I couldn't think of anything to blog about so I played a little game with myself. The game was simple, the first thing that pops in your mind, blog about that. So I decided to blog about my pet cat and the importance of having pets. My cats name is Max. He is a fluffy tabby that likes pretty much anything that pets him or is comfortable to sleep on! No matter what you can never stay mad at him, that is if he ever makes you mad. When you feeling down it's almost like Max knows and he will come and lay on your lap. He is always calm(except when our dog is around). Animals are really important in a life especially when your a kid. They are good companions and can not only cheer you up but also keep you exercised. You have to run around with them and play with them lots. Although animals are lots of hard work and stressful sometimes, they are very friendly, love to cuddle and help you in pretty much every aspect of your life. Being nice to animals really ...
