Struggles

 Struggles. We all have them. Some struggles are bigger then others. Some may be reoccurring and some may be a one and done. However the only thing that is common between all struggles is that they are all another obstacle in our life. For me, my biggest struggle this year has been blogging. I can give a thousand excuses why I didn’t blog but that doesn’t change the fact that I didn’t blog. Struggles are also learnings opportunities. Instead of just identifying a struggle then mitigating it, learn from it, figure out why it happened and find the best way to keep it from happening again. How we react and adapt to struggles directly affects our life so we have to make sure we do it the right way. 

Starting anew

 As all of you have heard tonight, I have been greatly lacking in blogging this year. I missed one week and that turned to two weeks then a month then half the year. After tonights meeting I thought to myself, what better time to start blogging then now, so here I am, living in the moment and starting anew. Each day is another chance for you to start anew, to improve, to train, to positively change the world around you. Something that I have heard countless times during my journey in kung fu is to never compare yourself to the people beside you. Compare yourself to you yesterday and each day become better. Right now, today me is better the yesterday me because of this blog. It’s important to keep in mind the improvement you have made over the days or the months or even the years and blogging is the perfect way to do just that. I deeply regret not blogging these past months because I have lost out on a 6 month portion of my training that I won’t remember 50 years down the road. That...
