Importance of parents

This Saturday, we had three toddlers come over to our house while their parents went shopping and for everybody that has kids you should know, it was tiring. Most of the time we were in the pool and we each had our own kid to take care of. I had a little boy named Oscar. Most of the time he was floating on his stomach while I held him above water and carried him around. My arms got really tired really fast. After the pool Oscar wanted to go to the swings for about 15 seconds. So we ran there and then back. After that Oscar wanted to go on the trampoline this time for a little longer. He stayed on it for about 30 seconds. You couldn’t leave them out of your sight because once you look away for even 2 seconds they are gone. When all of that was done and over with we dried off and headed inside to watch a movie. The day was really long and made me think about what I was like that when I was a kid. Through the day and the next, I kept asking question about if I did certain when I was a...

Trying new things

This weekend I tried something new, softball. I entered in a tournament to play softball with no experience what so ever. I didn’t know how to properly hit, didn’t know the rules, didn’t even know what all the positions were. Our team was the only kid team and our coach was an 11 year old boy. However as the weekend went on, I found myself hitting better, I almost hit a home run, I knew almost all the rules, and I knew exactly were to go when coach gave me a position. I never knew that someone can get good at something in one weekend and actually have fun while doing so. In total there was six games and I played four of them. The first one our team lost, the second we tied, the third we lost, the fourth and fifth we won, and the sixth we lost. It was a pretty good score for us being the only kids facing parents and other adults. I enjoyed playing this softball tournament and I am really looking forwards to next year if I can join again. This goes to show you that even if you have n...

The parade

Last weekend was the once a year, Farmers day parade. Each year I always have fun but this year was high above all the other years. I had the privilege to be in the head of the lion. It was a slow start but once we got going it started to go quick. There was many times I had to run to catch up and only once I had to stop to wait for the float. The funnest part was probably hearing the "whoa" from the little kids then scaring them right after. It didn't even to get old when we reached the end of the parade. Throughout the parade Mr. Meier, the Bjorkquist, and I swapped throughout the lion. We had some pretty good swaps and some choppy ones. Overall I feel we were a good team. In the parade, I started out has the head of the lion and then switched with the Bjorkquists. When Mr. Meier and I went back into the lion, Mr. Meier was the head and I was the tale. Throughout the parade we swapped back and forth. It got really hot in the lion so we stared switching out more ofte...
