Pandemonium

This weekend, probably everyone knows, was the pandemonium. It started off with some people getting their at seven to set up tents for the charities, food, and face painting. It took a while to set up the tents but when we were done, the work wasn’t over. We then had to get set up for the bazaar and also unloaded everything to cook the food. Once all of that was done with, we drew chalk on the ground to show people what’s what. Almost the whole driveway was covered in chalk. When we were done the chalk we had some breakfast and hung around talking and looking at interesting things to buy. Eventually at 11:30 we started the lion dances. My and Mr.Meier were in Po while 14 others were in 7 different lions. It was a fun dance but very chaotic. With 8 lions, it was a pretty crowded dance. After that we hung out some more and then did another dance, this times with weapons. It was my first demo in the year of my I Ho Chuan so I as pretty nervous. After the weapon demo we had another...

Technology today

Last weekend, I was at my friends house. We were having a great time and having so much fun. However we were having a little to much fun and I forgot my iPad. The whole weekend I went without my iPad and it made me realize that us as humans rely on technology to do the simplest things. Without my iPad I couldn’t play games, I couldn’t contact my friends, and I couldn’t even write my blog. I had to use my moms computer. What people use to to manually, we can do with a touch of a finger or a flick of a switch. This new technologies are making us not want to do what people done back in the day. We stay inside and play video games the whole day. Each and everyday, advancements on either old technology or steps to new technology are being taken. The more counsels or games people make the more money everybody has to spend to either be “popular” or have fun. When a new game comes out, you play it to much and then you get bored of it so you stop playing it. Once you stop playing it, a ...

The kwoon clean up

The kwoon clean up is always something I enjoy because it is a whole bunch of people getting together to reach a common goal. There was many different jobs being done all at once. Some of them include cleaning up Tanarama, whipper snipping, raking grass, bagging grass, sweeping the road, etc. Finding people that can work with anyone is a pretty rare thing to find now a days. It is also very hard to learn. Most of it however, is getting over the fact that you don't like the person and get down to work. Being able to work with others and achieve a common goal is a major part to being successful in life. Sometimes you can get lucky and you can find someone that you can work well with. Sometimes you have to go out of your convert zone and try to work with different people. Each and every person has something different to teach you and it could be what you least expect. working with different people can really change your point of view on a certain topic even if you had a strong bias ...

Kind act-athon

We are now almost a week into May. That means we are almost a week into the kind act-athon. I started recording my kind acts a little late. I started May 2nd. As of today I have recorded 30 good deeds and have one sponsor. I have been aiming at around five a day, no less. Good deeds are easy to do it’s just hard remembering them. I have probably done a good 50 good deeds but either forgot about them or not realize that it was a good deed. Right before bed I lie down and think, from the start of the day to the end of the day what did I do and was there a good deed associated with that. I find that by doing this, it’s not to hard to get 5 good deeds a day. Good deeds can be done anywhere. They can be done at the house and they can be as simple as tidying the foyer or cleaning up after supper. They can be done out in public by greeting people, complimenting people, or even holding the door open for people. Saying something as little as nice shirt can really change someone’s day. You m...
